The engagement of Minister D.K. Aruna’s daughter Snigdha and Karthik Reddy, held at HICC on Thursday night saw the state’s political bigwigs in full attendance. Chief Minister K. Rosaiah, Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan and Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy blessed the couple. Jaipal Reddy too was present at the do and was flanked by politicians D. Srinivas, Purandareswari, Sunita Laxma Reddy, Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, Gala Venkata Reddy, Sudharshan Reddy and others. Tollywood stars Chiranjeevi, Rana, Jayasudha, Rajasekhar, Nitin congratulated the couple. Also spotted Gunny Raju, Shaloo Reddy, Indira Reddy, Suresh-Keerthana Manikonda and Shashidar Reddy’s son Puru Reddy among others.

Minister D. K. Aruna and D.K. Bharatsimha Reddy hosted a party to celebrate the birth of their grandson, Vihaan, on Sunday night at Rock Heights. The grand do was attended by the city’s top politicians, bureaucrats and socialites. The venue was beautifully lit up and decorated with flowers. The guests were raving about the lavish spread served. Suman and Shruti Reddy, parents of the little tot were seen mingling with the guests. Chief Minister K. Rosaiah, D. Srinivas, Ponnala Laxmaiah, Indrasena Reddy, BVR Mohan Reddy, Deepti, Girish Sanghi, Pankaj-Sapna Grover, N. Raghu Veera Reddy, Sandeep-Sunita Reddy, Puru Reddy, Teja Raju, Rajesh Raju and Sangeeta Reddy and others dropped in to bless Vihaan.

Krishnadas held a party at his residence for friends from England and Dubai, recently. Hyderabadi cuisine was served and the dum murg was a hit. Spotted Dr Raghuram, Dalim, Anu, Shailaja Reddy, Ayesha Raza and Shailaja Bengali among others at the realxed dinner.

HYDERABAD: Minister for Small- Scale Industries D K Aruna escaped unhurt in a road accident in Mahaboobnagar district this morning, thanks to the air bags installed in her vehicle.Police said the minister, along with her driver Ram Singh, gunman and personal assistant, was on her way to Gadwal when the SUV (sports utility vehicle
) hit a road divider. None of the occupants was injured.The road near the Tomalapally is under repair. While one lane of it is being repaired the other was taking the load of the two-way traffic. ``The driver lost control over the vehicle on the narrow stretach and crashed into a road divider. The left side front wheel burst under the impact of the collision and the vehicle rammed into a railing on the roadside and came to a halt,’’ Pebbair sub-inspector of police Balu Chauhan said.Luckily, the safety balloons in the Volvo
vehicle prevented any injury to the minister who was seated in the front. A case of rash and negligent driving was registered against the driver, police said.

The car in which she was traveling turned upside down, but luckily the minister has been safe. The incident took place at Komalapadu village in Pebberu Mandal of Mahaboonbagar district.

No officials were visible as said by the victims except few roaming here and there for the name sake. But from last 4 days one brave hearted lady, Minister for Minister of Small Scale Industries D.K.Aruna is on the field literally monitoring every possible corner of Mahaboobnagar district and instructing the officials and NGOs.

She escaped the trap of death when her boat capsized in the floods in this process. Lot of ministers and MLAs are pretending yesterday and today as they were doing some thing. But no body got into the mud and water to help at lease morally for the victimgs.

But Mrs. D.K.Aruna involved in live action with dedicated spirit by encouraging the fellow people.

Being a politician is certainly a bigger challenge for a woman than being in other professions. In politics, there is no time frame and you are on duty 24 hours. The apprehensions people have over women's ability to perform strengthens us to give our best. One has to realise that a woman is no less. The celebrity status is enjoyable, but I don't allow that to get in the way of my personal life.

I would like to bring women to a higher level of awareness and I certainly would like to choose the Women's Day to do something towards that end.

Power brings both joys and sorrows. You have to be wise to make better use of it.
