HYDERABAD: Minister for Small- Scale Industries D K Aruna escaped unhurt in a road accident in Mahaboobnagar district this morning, thanks to the air bags installed in her vehicle.Police said the minister, along with her driver Ram Singh, gunman and personal assistant, was on her way to Gadwal when the SUV (sports utility vehicle
) hit a road divider. None of the occupants was injured. The road near the Tomalapally is under repair. While one lane of it is being repaired the other was taking the load of the two-way traffic. ``The driver lost control over the vehicle on the narrow stretach and crashed into a road divider. The left side front wheel burst under the impact of the collision and the vehicle rammed into a railing on the roadside and came to a halt,’’ Pebbair sub-inspector of police Balu Chauhan said.Luckily, the safety balloons in the Volvo
vehicle prevented any injury to the minister who was seated in the front. A case of rash and negligent driving was registered against the driver, police said.
